I am filled with gratitude and humility because I know that right now, in this very moment, I have absolutely nothing to worry about; not even the air I breathe or the blood that pumps through my veins. I recognise and accept my blessings. I recognise and accept my trials. I am thankful for the moments of stillness, clarity and understanding. I count it all joy!

Go ahead—eat your food and be happy; drink your wine and be cheerful. It’s all right with God. Always look happy and cheerful. Enjoy life with the one you love, as long as you live the useless life that God has given you in this world. Enjoy every useless day of it, because that is all you will get for all your trouble. Work hard at whatever you do, because there will be no action, no thought, no knowledge, no wisdom in the world of the dead—and that is where you are going.
I realized another thing, that in this world fast runners do not always win the races, and the brave do not always win the battles. The wise do not always earn a living, intelligent people do not always get rich, and capable people do not always rise to high positions. Bad luck happens to everyone. You never know when your time is coming. Like birds suddenly caught in a trap, like fish caught in a net, we are trapped at some evil moment when we least expect it. (Ecclesiastes 9: 7-12)

The Lord will make you go through hard times, but he himself will be there to teach you, and you will not have to search for him any more. If you wander off the road to the right or the left, you will hear his voice behind you saying, “Here is the road. Follow it.” (Isaiah 30:20, 21 GNT)

Psalm 121

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. (Psalm 121:1-8 KJV)

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Psalm 46: “Be Still and know that I AM GOD.”

One of my favourite Bible scriptures is Psalm 46, especially verse 10:

“He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;

I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

Whenever I feel like life is moving too fast for me or that my obnoxious alter-ego, who likes to think she’s Superwoman by trying to take on everything at once resurfaces, I take a deep breath and recite this verse to myself. “Be Still” and let God handle the rest. I believe that it is in the stillness that He manifests Himself. Sometimes, we just need to take some time off and acknowledge that there’s someone out there; a bigger and stronger force, that can see us through any situation. He said, “Come unto me, all you who are weak and heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.”
